Ossier is a popular material these days. Easter whips are not the only thing that can be produced from it. Experts from the organization Raptor Protection of Slovakia used ossier nest - for predators. Nests are perfect imitation of the natural nests and are even more stable and stronger. One of the nests in Záhorie likes Eagle owl so much that it decided to nest there.

"The nesting season already started and many experts from Raptor Protection of Slovakia spend most of their time out in the field. We watch which sites are occupied by nesting pairs and if everything is in order. During the last visit in Záhorie we visited one of the nests that we have here recently placed in the project LIFE Energy. We wish to see in the nest Imperial Eagle, which occupies this site regularly. The original eagle's nest has been destroyed. Eagles often build a nest in the top of the tree and therefore it becomes the unstable and fall or are dangerous for eagles. Our nests for eagles are the perfect imitation of natural nests, just more stable and safer. When in the nest abut such great eagles, it easily hold not only adult birds but also young. So far we distributed twenty nests in western and eastern Slovakia. Another twenty more will be added during the LIFE Energy project. And in this way we want to help Imperial Eagles, which is mainly in western Slovakia threatened primarily by illegal activities and drastic changes in the country by human activities, "explains Joseph Chavko, President of Raptor Protection of Slovakia
