Project LIFE Energy as implemented in thirteen SPAs (Special Protection Areas) in the period of 1st September 2014 - 31st December 2019 and was aimed at protecting the ten priority bird species. Project pages are currently updated only on an occasional basis.
ZSD realized the installation of flight diverters on four sections of the 22 kV line - Bánov, Dvory nad Žitavou, Kráľová and Ľubá. In the east part of Slovakia, diverters were not installed in May.
We have controlled the planting of trees - the state of the trees and the care.
All power lines treated by flight diverters are regularly controlled by monitoring of the effectiveness in terms of the D1 activity manual, findings are updated in the database. Coordination of the monitoring with the State Nature Conservancy, which employees also realise monitoring, continued.
There is an active monitoring of the occupancy of the artificial nests and nests boxes - the control of the Imperial Eagle and the Saker Falcon in the project areas.
There is also a controll on the suslik sites - the season looks very promising, current figures from the last census: Gemerská Hôrka - 80 susliks, 330 holes, Hrhov - 250 individuals, 1300 holes. Slowly begin to appear young susliks.
The exhibition in now located in the vestibule of the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology at STU in Bratislava city center, where it is open to public.
In May, we published 2 Press Releases in the News - one about Susliks in Slovenský kras and the other one about the instalation of insulators on electric power lines in Šurany. We recorded 19 media outputs - 14 in online form, 2 in printed form, 1 radio output and 2 TV outputs, one of which was also in English language.
