Project LIFE Energy as implemented in thirteen SPAs (Special Protection Areas) in the period of 1st September 2014 - 31st December 2019 and was aimed at protecting the ten priority bird species. Project pages are currently updated only on an occasional basis.
In the coming days, ornithologists expect the first peak of spring bird migration. It lasts in relation to autumn shorter; one of the factors is the effect of hormones due to reproduction and nesting. An arrival of many species is expected in large numbers, for example chaffinch that make up to thousands of flocks.
Partner energy companies have installed elements to allow diverting flight paths to birds and preventing dangerous collisions. In addition at several places were planted trees for the purpose of revitalizing the existing wind breaks, or creating new ones, since such vegetation can increase the visibility of electric lines for birds and limit such collisions.
