Next weekend ornithologists will continue the monitoring of raptors, focusing on the Imperial Eagle, White-tailed eagle and Saker Falcon. The international mapping will take place on 16th and 17th January, in Slovakia coordinated by experts from the organization Raptor Protection of Slovakia. In Europe thousands of ornithologists will be involved. All three species are threatened in Slovakia and their targeted protection is necessary to know the actual number and the places they prefer in winter. The obtained data will be used when planning the falling of forests, the key areas for rare species will be kept.
